Leadership Development

Everything rises and falls on Spirit-anointed leadership

The Great Lakes Region serves to equip pastors and staffs with Leadership Development tools, provides support to local boards and churches during pastoral transitions, and helps to build the pipeline of our next generation of leaders through the GLR Residency Program.

WHAT WE DO

The GLR partners with other organizations such as Fishhook, Dirt Roads Network, & Groundswell to provide atmospheres where pastors and leaders can grow in community over specific topics. These cohorts range from church multiplication all the way to communication strategies. They offer a space for openness and honesty where individuals can get specific with issues and questions that pertain to their unique context.

We believe in the importance of raising up leaders within our local body. In order to do this we offer a pathway to help students through the Wesleyan Church’s Ministerial development process.

We understand the difficulties of a switch in leadership and want to help you through this process in recruiting God’s BEST person for your church. From job posting templates to interview guides, we have you covered.

Contact either Jack or Sue and they’d be happy to assist in any transitional needs.

It’s important that those assisting in large decision making understand the roles that they play and the power they have. We want to help you and your board understand the value in the chair they are siting in.

This two-year residency will set you up for long term success  while making a difference now by focusing on five things:

  1. Paid work in healthy local ministry
  2. Professional leadership development
